How to clean windows without streaks
Streaks after cleaning your windows? Check the timing, your cloth, and the dosage before buying another product. Glass that dries too quickly, or still has cleaner on it, can show marks.
This guide concerns ordinary, safely accessible windows. For coated glass, window film, or special finishes, follow the supplier’s care instructions. This is not a set of directions for a BioLuxea product.
Start with the window, not the bottle
Look at what you want to clean: just the glass, or also the frame and sill? These can be different materials. A product suitable for glass is not automatically suitable for surrounding wood, natural stone, or coatings.
Compare the care instructions with the product label. If you cannot establish that they are compatible, ask the supplier before proceeding.
A short method
- Choose a cool moment. Avoid direct sunlight, as moisture may dry too quickly.
- Use clean tools. Prepare a lint-free cloth and check the rubber blade of your squeegee for dirt.
- Follow the dosage. Use the chosen product as stated on its label. Adding more is not a solution to streaks.
- Remove dirt and moisture. Work one pane at a time and dry the edges with a clean cloth.
This approach is consistent with Kärcher’s window-cleaning guidance: consider sunlight, dosage, clean tools, and drying the edges.
Still seeing streaks? Change one thing at a time
Do not immediately cover the whole pane with more product. Test a small, accessible area first. Was the cloth clean? Was the glass warm? Was the dosage correct? Checking one possible cause at a time prevents repeated guesswork.
If the glass is damaged or the haze sits between panes, more cleaning is not the right next step. Ask your glass supplier to assess the cause.
Do you need a separate product for every window?
Not every task needs another bottle. Start with what suits the surface and type of dirt, use only what you need, and follow the dosage.
